I want to smell the sweet saltiness of the Atlantic
I want to feel the gentle spray of the ocean's essence across my face.
I want to dip my feet in its cool kisses
I want to be submerged beneath the beauty of the blue...
tasting the sunlight as it peeks through the deep crystal glass
I want my Bahamaland.
For the water... it speaks Sweeping over the depths of my soul it sings Singing me to ecstasy This being away it stings How I miss the water The honesty of the tide Coming and going But always bringing me Singing me to ecstasy a song for all ages A song that will never die across the sands of time A song for my homeland My love My pride
My Father has blessed me with some awesome God-opportunities in my lifetime... but this is by far one of the greatest! I was asked to write a prayer for the children of the world for a major international children's leadership conference. The children's leadership event, "Culture Up 2012", was based in the Bahamas this year and streamed internationally across the world wide web. Two of the most influential people in my life, Dr. Myles Munroe and Dr. Beulah Farquharson facilitated this event. I was honored to be a part of this historic moment. Glory to GOD!!!
Here is the poem I penned entitled, "Prayer for the Children".
Father, Our Father
who art in heaven
Father, Our Father,
holy is Your name
Do you hear the cries?
The cries of the children
The cries of the innocent
The lost and the lonely
Before you created the planets
You knew each child by name
You established their purpose
Long before time began
You knew some would suffer
You knew some would feel pain
But you sent them a Comforter
It was all in Your plan
Father, Our Father
They wait on redemption
Love and direction
Seeking answers to life’s questions
Father, Our Father
Release Your angels
To lead and guide them
To Jesus, our Savior
For the children are Your heritage
It’s written in the Bible
In order to get to heaven
We must be just like them
So humbly we pray
Every heart as a child’s
Father, Our Father
Cover them with Your hand
Shelter them from every evil that roams
Seeking to ruin and destroy their souls
Every nation every tongue
Every single one
Father, protect them when it’s all said and done
We declare sweet salvation over Your sons and daughters
Baptize them now with fire and water
Father, Our Father
Now we decree
Your will for the children is all that will be
Peace for the ones who were left alone
Justice for the abused
Compassion for the scorned
Grace for the children who have all gone astray
Love for them all; the more excellent way
Father, let them be marked by their passion for You
